WORKING STUDENTS

WORKING WHILE STUDYING

Study is an important thing for many people. Many people study in order to get knowledge, especially for those who want to work. They expect to get knowledge to support them to get job. Nowadays, we can find many students who are working while they are studying, especially who are studying in universities. Is working beneficial for students? Many people do not think that working while studying is beneficial, but I don’t think so. In my opinion, working while studying is beneficial.
The first reason for the working students is to get the experience. Students who are working while studying may get experience, especially when their job is suitable with their academic field. Of course they want to get a suitable job with their academic field after they graduate. It will help them to get used to work. And the result is a readiness for their future job. Other people think that students who are working while studying may not focus on their study. But in fact, students will be helped by their job.
When students are working, unconsciously they are also studying. For example, students of English Language Education Study Program are working as teachers of English private courses. When they are working, they are also studying to be teachers. They study to explain some English materials in English language, and they have to be able to make their students understand. Working will support them to get better marks. That’s why, working is helpful.
The second reason is economic problem. Students who are working may be motivated by economic problem. By working, of course they will get extra money, so that they may use that money to fulfill their needs. People who disagree think that students have to study. They do not need to do anything besides studying because their parents will take care of them and will do anything to pay their school fee. But I have a different think about that. Taking care of the children is parents’ duty and paying children’s school fee is their responsibility. However, working students are good. They help their parents in economic aspect. They lighten their parents’ burden. By doing so, at least they are learning to be responsible of themselves. It is very useful for their future when they have to be apart from their parents and be independent.
It’s clear that working while studying is beneficial for students. Even it is not only beneficial for the students, but also for people around them. Some benefits of working are helping the students to adapt with their job in the future, supporting their study, and helping their parents by earning extra money. Therefore it’s better for students to get job while they are studying.
